PDK chairmanship member Betim Djoshi said they are trying to elect the most suitable candidates for each municipality.
“We are making all preparations that autumn elections The PDK gets out as well as possible, we have candidates who are most popular with Kosovo citizens. We're making an effort that in branches where we haven't yet formalised the candidacy we find the best among the possibilities that PDK has and which represent society as wide as possible, then the same issue we're carrying to assistors' lists”.
You know that even in 2017 we were the party with the largest number of asmblists, and this time we tried to be the party with the number of more successful municipalities. We're trying to restore power to municipalities that the PDK traditionally had governance. Even today we have meetings with the branches, and during the week we will present some of the candidates and it will be a continuous process, we plan to finish the candidacy issue, in most branches”, he said.
On the other hand, Yoshi said that in past elections, she has suffered as a result of agreements between political parties. Furthermore, he said he believes that this year will not convey the same fate, as they have better relations with political parties.
“We were once again the party with the majority of the municipalities that we won in the first round, but as a result of political agreements in many municipalities for a few votes managed to get us, as is the case with Prizren, Kline, or even with other branches. This time I believe it's different, we have better relations with different local political subjects, so I believe this will translate us into better votes and results”, he stressed away.
He says Pristina's candidate from this party will mark good results along with its team.
“We are waiting for the Pristina branch to eventually bring us its candidate, they are in communication with citizens and we think that the Pristina candidate should represent more broadly than our branch here, and for that, the consultation is to create a better team and bring better results, and we have very big prospects given that everyone in Pristina and the capital is in chaos, and we think that our team for Pristina will score a good<x1.
Furthermore, Joci says the late officialism of candidates from other parties has made it difficult to confront.
Besides having been in power, we've had easier, the rest we're making measurements with citizens, we're choosing candidates that have a greater preference with citizens. So they're not just people who represent only the structure of the party but they're respected people in the environments from which they're selected. It's harder to make it because other parties are too late on this issue and we're not having a counterconventions that they saw and dealt with”, he told Online Economy.
