The PDK-proposed resolution on the economic situation in Kosovo as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic has failed to pass to the Assembly because it did not get enough votes.

This resolution, which has emerged after parliamentary debate days ago on supporting businesses affected during the pandemic, received no more than 14 deputies' votes until 59 were against it.

The framework in today's plenary session continuation, with 71 votes, has approved the Commission's recommendations for Public Finance Oversight Report “Organization and Information Technology Investment Management in Public Institutions”.

MP Arta Bajralia from Vetevendosje, on behalf of the Commission, has submitted and reasoned the recommendations, saying the government should take care of harmonising investments in the IT sector, as they impact better management of public money.

“Budget organizations make sure they own the stem codes for any app or software they use, buy or receive as a donation. The government in the new wage law needs to take into account IT staff so that these frameworks can be stimulated to stay in public institutions. The government takes care of harmonisation of investments in the IT sector at the central and local level, given communication between systems and harmonisation with the country's” level IT strategy, Bayralia said.

MPs also stressed that investments in information technology facilitate citizens' access to services.

These recommendations are also supported by the opposition, in this case by the PDK and the LDK.

MPs have also formed the ad-hoc Commission for electing candidates for a member of the Media Anxiety Board. The Assembly has ended the session. /kp/
