Parties in Kosovo come together about a stance: No compromise in final agreement with Serbia

Refusing any new compromise with Serbia has brought parliamentary political parties together. The positions and opposition unanimously expressed that Kosovo in terms of dialogue with Serbia should not make any agreements that are at the expense of the country. As they say, Kosovo has made enough compromises with the acceptance of the Ahtisaari Pack. The MP [...]
Vetevendosje Movement MP Artan Abrashi tells Kosovo Press that Kurti Government under dialogue with Serbia will not accept anything that will harm the country.
“has been told repeatedly that the latest and most painful compromise is Ahtisaari's package. But unfortunately, even though there was an opinion of the JND, which gave him the right to independence. Kosovo, the irresponsible political class, was subjected to a new kind of process, which analysed everything in Kosovo. Everything is now a hostage to will, or approval Serbia, as for Kosovo. We've got jams of acquaintances going really well. Therefore, we cannot accept that we continue with the same spirit that brought consequences to Kosovo. It is an emergency and a must to review the conditions of this dialogue and start differently. We are charged with a Parliament resolution Kosovo, which was approved on March 15th 2020, in which red lines are defined, the frames the Kosovo Government must strictly adhere to. The unitary Karatator of the state, internal institutional functioning, institutional integrity, territory and constitutional order. No government has the legitimacy toʹi questions these”, he says.
High attention on this issue also requires former PDK Prime Minister Betim Djoshi, who shows three principles Kosovo should not negotiate within dialogue.
“Kosovo must retain its sovereignty, internal functioning and any agreement to be in line with the Constitution of Kosovo and the agreement have part of mutual recognition. So Kosovo wins seats in The UN and recognition from Serbia. Any other subject discussed today is not in the interest of citizens of Kosovo”, he says.
While LDK chairmanship member Teuta Sahatqija tells Kosovo that any compromise that would be made would be harmful to Kosovo.
“in numerous dialogues with internationals has said the Ahtisaari document is the maximum compromises that Kosovo is giving and after this document will be recognised by all states Europe will be part of united nations. So I think Kosovo has so far made maximum compromises and any compromise required by Kosovo would have been harmful by the prosperity and functionality of Kosovo”, she says.
The AAK deputy Paul Lekaj is on the same line.
The painful “compromis is also Ahtisaari's package and we dare not go beyond that and seek compromise from the Kosovo side again. I don't know what they think, but Kosovo has made enough compromises and we should think about ourselves consulting our international friends, he declares.
Recently, the achievement of a compromise under the final Kosovo-Serbia agreement was also requested by French President Emmanuel Macron, on the occasion of Prime Minister Albin Kurti's reception.
