Socialist majority needs 94 votes to oust President Ilir Meta from office before the mandate ends.

Before the start of today's session, the Socialist Party has gathered the parliamentary group.

The parliamentary commission, set up to investigate President Ilir Meta's activity during the 25 April elections, has considered “serious breach” positions and statements expressed by him.

In the 96-page final report, which Euronews Albania examined, the president reportedly violated 17 articles of the Constitution” and that “these violations are considered by the commission as serious violations”.

Meanwhile, the head of state has named the decision to be collected for his dismissal “unconstitutional”.

In a statement to the media by Elbasan a few days ago Meta stressed that “Assembly is three times the most unconstitutional”, while appealing that “be investigated election crimes”.

May God forgive those who do not know what they do and guide everyone on the path of common good”, the head of state said.
