Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani met with Undersecretary of State for Foreign Policy and Security at Finland's Foreign Ministry, Kai Suer.
According to a media report, Osmani has thanked Suer for his continued care, his government and the Finnish people for the international affirmation of the Republic of Kosovo.
She recognized the Finnish diplomat with the role of Kosovo's new institutions in promoting further Kosovo citizenship, as well as the challenges facing Kosovo and the entire region, especially during the Devid-19 pandemic.
As for the country's EU integration, President Osmani reiterated Kosovo's stance once again that Euro-Atlantic integrations are our strategic definitions and renewed Kosovo's readiness to move as quickly as possible towards that goal.
The European Union is our choice, but we also belong”, she said. “The conditions set for EU integration we consider primarily as goals we want to meet for the welfare of our citizens”, she said. President Osmani also recognised the Finnish diplomat with the preparation and approach of the country's institutions for dialogue with Serbia. She stressed that it is very important for Serbia to show readiness for dialogue and to give priority to the issue of violent missing persons during the Kosovo war.
“Dialog must result in mandatory agreement, which ensures recognition of Kosovo's independence, and opens the perspective to the region for EU integration”, said Mrs. Osman. Undersecretary of State, Mr. Kai Sauer, meanwhile, has bridged Osman for his election to the post of president of the country and assured him that the state of Finland will continue, even so far, to support the state of Kosovo in its people's EU integration aspirations.
