Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has said Kosovo citizens are becoming a major injustice that is not liberalising visas.

Osmani in an interview for “weiner Zeitung” has said that young people in Kosovo are feeling like being in cages, and that the EU has not kept its word to liberalise visas.

It's totally unfair. A lot of young people are telling me that they feel like they're living inside a cage. This isolation in 2021, at a time when the EU is open to many distant countries, it is crazy. We are part of the continent of Europe, we are Europeans. We want to have parts. Kosovo has two million inhabitants, the EU does not have to fear mass migration”, Osmani has said.

She has added that even the reluctance of France and Holland does not have to be present, as Kosovo does not find on the list of 40 states from which there is more migration.

There was a problem in 2014-2015 where many people traveled to the EU and wanted to stay there. But the figure is drastically reduced. Kosovo is no longer on the list of 40 states from more to more come migrants”, Osmani has said. “We have met all necessary criteria for abolishing visas, rather than meeting other states. It is the EU that has not kept the promise and that has weakened credibility. Some member states are hesitant about the reason for domestic politics. But there is no reason to punish Kosovars, who feel that they are in a political ghetto. Kosovo has never looked at any direction other than the EU. We see the EU approach as the way to be pursued”.

Osmani has said that while Serbia is threatening the EU using its approach card with Russia, Kosovo does not play such games.

Serbia is trying to play games, threatening the EU that it will move even closer to Russia. Political, economic and military co-operation is now closer, an example is joint training with Russia and Belarus. That was never our orientation. We value the EU very much, but those seeking alternatives are drawing closer to the European Union. Serbia has benefited from the visa-free regime for years, like many other countries, from which more people migrate than from Kosovo”, Osmani said.

She has also talked about the Kosovo dialogue, Serbia, aided by the EU. He has said Serbia must come and prepare in the dialogue. As for changing borders, it has said it should not come into expression.

“There was a first meeting between Prime Minister Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq. However, Serbia had not prepared anything and had no proposals, and these are necessary if we want to move on. Other way. Kosovo has made several new proposals, such as example of regional trade relations, minority rights or questions about missing persons. Serbia appears to have rejected everything. But if you want a real dialogue, it should come to the negotiating table prepared and not use the process of unnecessary drama. Serbia just blocked”, Osmani said. “We need to find a way to cooperate. A fundamental condition for this is justice for war victims, so far as not even existed. Example is the explanation of the fate of missing people. Serbia knows where they are buried, all information is found in military archives. We want our citizens back. These were killed in war, kidnapped by Serbia and buried in mass graves. Serbia cannot pretend to be pro-European as long as they sleep on mass graves”.
