“Nic is a brand that is China's and China's” said chief executive John Donahoe, in response to a question about competition from Chinese brands.
Comments come after the sports dress giant was recently hit by a sharp response to statements concerning Xinjiang, the BBC writes, Klankosova conveys. tv
Donahoe said he is sure that China will continue to be a fast-growing market for the company because of its multi-year investments there.
We've always made long-term decisions. We've been in China for over 40 years,” he said.
Some Western brands, including “Nic” and Swedish fashion vendor “H&M”, recently faced a response from Chinese buyers after firms voiced concerns about the alleged use of forced waterwork in cotton production.
In March, a group of Western countries imposed sanctions on officials in China for abuse of rights against the predominantly Muslim water group.
