For these two missions, $500 million has been allocated and is expected to be accomplished between 2028 and 2030, the BBC writes.
Chief NASA, Bill Nelson, said these missions would offer the opportunity to explore a planet “that we haven't been for more than 30 years”.
The last time a probe was shipped to Venera was 1990, in the case of launching the Magellan probe. Since then, other objects have accomplished flights near Venera.
The missions were assessed by scientists and selected on the basis of their scientific value and feasibility of their development plans.
“These two sister-like missions aim to understand how Venera became like a world similar to hell, capable of melting the bullet into”, Nelson said.
Venera is the second planet from the sun and the hottest planet in the solar system. The temperature on its surface is 500 degrees, enough to melt the bullet.
