More than two million people in the city's centre and suburbs have been forced to close to comply with new measures that have entered into force since Friday.
According to recent reports, more than 80 cases of the Delta version of the Coronavirus have been confirmed in Sydney in the last few days alone.
The Indian vaccine, known as the Delta version, is already spreading to many countries in the world. This version is said to be more common and more dangerous.
