For five months, ATK collected around 243m euros

Kosovo's Tax Administration during the first five-month period of 2021 has managed to register around 243m euros, where compared to the same period last year, it turns out there are about 57m euros of gross income, so the institution's director, Ilir Murtezaj, has announced. Murtezaj has [...]
Murtezaj has also said there are about 24m euros more collected than planned for this period.
“over this five-month period of this year, we can say that we have a return to the normal tax fee where the current performance shows that we are on an extremely good trend by managing to register about 243m euros, which, if compared to the same period last year, turns out to have about 57 million more incomes. And if we compare it to the plan, we have about 24m euros in revenues more than the plan for this period, which was envisioned with the budget of”, it is expressed in an interview for Online Economics.
And the director of ATK has announced that this period of time is also marked by a 27 percent increase in circulation, amounting to 822m euros.
This growth makes us hope that it will continue with a similar trend for the remaining period of the year, where if we look at statistics that show that we have a five-month turnover increase of 2021 in proportion to the same period in 2020, we have an increase of about 27 percent of the circulation or in terms of about 822 million euros in increased circulation. These are the indicators that make us believe that ferryboats were set up for the rest of the year. So far we are pretending based on the communications we have with the Ministry of Finance that we have an upgrade of the Inflowing ferry for about 32m euros for the rest of the current year”, he added.
On the other hand, Murtezaj, has shown that businesses because of the pandemic still have difficulty carrying out obligations to ATK, but that this institution within legal opportunities has understood them.
We have difficulties because we still have businesses that haven't managed to get back to normal. They still have difficulties in their liquidity and have more problems with their own operations, and also tax problems. For this, as a continuing institution since the beginning of the pandemic and the early years, we have been trying to understand within the legal possibilities and give room for paying taxes not to cause businesses to go bankrupt or to make their business development difficult. These cases the law envisions that when businesses have financial difficulties, debt programming, payment of unpaid tranches. In this direction in 2020 we have increased the triple-programmed debt in proportion to 2019”, he said of EO.
According to Mutezaj, even though businesses have had access to commitment through the decision to pardon debt penalties, few have.
Therefore, he has warned that after June 30th, the first measures by law are initiated against businesses such as blocking bank accounts, blocking customs, treasures and even confiscating property or sending cases to court with an increase of criminal charges.
“We are at the conclusion of the period based on the decision of Government has given businesses the opportunity to benefit from punishments in the event they pay the basis of tax and interest, and this has led us to have an unhappy number of businesses that are exploiting this right and now based on the current data results in businesses' total value of being forgiven over 4m euros, and as a result we have managed to register over 14.5m euros in debt by paying the basis of tax and interest. After the June 30th period, our tax officials will certainly be forced to be the work in terms of law enforcement and insulating outstanding debts. It is understood that they wanted or did not want businesses to exploit this right, the obligation must be paid. The measures are seen by law, are clarified as blocking bank accounts, blocking customs, treasures, and even confiscating property, or even sending cases to court with raising criminal charges”, he has said, among other things.
Also, Murtezaj has stressed that ATK has launched reform aimed at consulting the debt function, which has proved positively by marking better management stories of 38 percent of debts in 2020 compared to 2019.
“In the direction of reforms we are every day working always in order to build capacity and totomize working processes, reforms that have given results. Some of them have been developing during 2020, but because of the pandemic maybe not with the trend and the expectations we had at the beginning of the project but they can still be considered as projects that have produced their results. One of the ATK reforms is consolidating the debt function, managing debts has become 38 per cent better than the same 2019 period, which has been the most successful year in ATK's history of debt management. If we compare it to 2018, we have over 100 percent of the best debt management in 2020, even though it was an Indemelic year. And as for the situation we are now in, we can consider that increasing the efficiency of this function will be much higher than what we are currently”, it has ended for EO.
