Dardan Moliqaj, chairman of the Social Democrat Party in Kosovo, commented on Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti's position in relation to the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
Moliqaj told Albin Kurtin that he has chosen the wrong mediator in dialogue, which leads to the extension of the Kosovo-Serbia conflict.
Albin Kurti has chosen the representative for Brussels, Joseph Borrell, and for Dardan Moliqaj, it would have been more accurate if he had chosen the US.
Mr. Kurti is the continuation of what governments and negotiations have already produced, choosing mediator Albin Kurti has also chosen the compromise he will make. Kosovo must have dialogue and compromise, but first we need to talk about the premises. Then we can discuss compromise. [...] Rejecting the US as a mediator, he also rejected the final solution between Kosovo and Serbia. We in Kosovo treat these as two historical lines”, he said.
Dardan Moliqaj said he disagrees with aspirations European Union representatives Joseph Borrell and Miroslav Lajcak have for resolving the conflict between Kosovo and Serbia.
The government that in its first term chose Brussels as representative, thus Mr. Borell. Lajcak and Borrel's aspirations for the solution between Kosovo and Serbia are through constitutional changes in Kosovo and Serbia and the accommodation of Serbia's autonomy. This implies a special status for the north of Kosovo, where it is predominantly from the Serb minority and for the part of Serbs in the south of Kosovo will be the association of municipalities, as well as the expansion of territory”, said Mr. Molly.
Moliqaj and that a final solution is needed, not the extension of the conflict with Serbia, and that solution may come, not by seeking recognition of Kosovo from Serbia, but with recognition of Kosovo's subjectivity by this state. According to Dardan Moliqaj, such a solution would bring co-operation to the region.
The” have become more than 20 years since Kosovo has been liberated from Serbia. Kosovo needs a final, sustainable solution, and guarantees on the one hand the final secession from Serbia and on the other, recognition of subjectivity by Serbia”, said Dardan Moliqaj.
“Not recognition of Kosovo, but recognition of subjectivity meaning that Kosovo has its right to organise within and abroad in the sense of regional co-operation, even those of joining Albania”, he added.
Dardan Molliq said that the way Albin Kurti is managing the dialogue creates a <x0 frozen “ ” conflict Kosovo-Serbia. He said that according to him, Mr. Kurt is not bringing anything new to these negotiations, but he is following the path his ancestors have pursued.
“It is unacceptable to have an extension of the frozen conflict between Kosovo and Serbia and a consolidation of Serbia in Kosovo, which will be the association of Serb majority municipalities, but there will be another appointment because such a thing has not been elected by the Constitutional Court. This has started Mr. Kurt is on the old road and leads to the old” said Mr. Molly. /Euronews
