Nagavci, through a Facebook post, said there have been numerous complaints about the quality of current textbooks because of errors and inaccuracies, so that next year, there will be a revision of textbooks.
“The teachers are the ones who will work with textbooks and should use them as one of the teaching sources. Those with legislation in effect are recognised the right to select textbooks, which are then approved by the School Council. Therefore, this year for the first time we will offer the opportunity for educators to exploit their legal rights by selecting alternative texts”, Nagavci said.

“From next school year, alternative texts will also be used
School texts are a very important element in improving quality in education. So in the legislative agenda, we have introduced the Law for publishing textbooks, textbooks, school lesson, and professorial documentation. We aim to have better text for our students through the new law.
Over the past years, there have been numerous complaints and the quality of textbooks has been criticised. Scientific inaccuracies, container errors, methodological and spelling errors are recorded, and we will review textbooks from next year.
The teachers are the ones who will work with textbooks and use them as one of the teaching sources. Those with legislation in effect are recognised the right to select textbooks, which are then approved by the School Council.
For this reason, this year for the first time, we will offer the opportunity for teachers to seize their legal right by selecting alternative texts.
We expect teachers to be on the level of duty, to analyse all texts and decide which are more appropriate and quality for achieving the results targeted by the curriculum.
Although free textbooks were offered for each year at schools, we have had many cases when parents and teachers bought their own texts and used others from those sent to the Ministry, so through alternative text, we will eliminate this problem”, Nagavci wrote.
Otherwise, the Ministry of Education has decided to change the dates for the end of the school year.
In the decision that August has made today, it is said that pre-schoolers, classrooms from the first to the eighth, will complete the lesson on July 2nd. And classes 9,10 and 11 will complete the lesson on 21 June.
