Minister Ceku crashes on Twitter with Petkovic for Serbian Orthodox Churches

The director of the so-called Office for Kosovo in Serbia's government, Petar Petkovovic, has responded to Culture Minister Hajrula Ceku in connection with incidents at the Serbian Orthodox Churches in Kosovo. Petkov has written by means of a tweet post that 135 monasteries and the Serbian church and many of them [...] have been destroyed since 1999.
Petkovic has written through a Twitter post that since 1999 135 monasteries have been destroyed, and many of them are still in ruins, and that according to him, official Pristina does not allow their reconstruction.
Since 1999, more than 135 churches and monasteries of the Serbian Orthodox Churches in Kosovo and Metohija have been destroyed. Serbia has renovated more than 45 temples. Many of the churches are still in ruins because Pristina does not allow their reconstruction. Those who set them on fire cannot preserve the cultural heritage of Serbia”, Petkovic wrote.
Meanwhile today, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Hajrula Ceku has said that according to Kosovo Police data, only 8 incidents have occurred at the Serbian Orthodox Churches in Kosovo during 2020 and none with religious motives.
In a Twitter post, Minister Ceku has written that out of 57 incidents in religious sites, 45 have occurred in those Muslims.
“Kosovo Police data: from 57 incidents in religious sites during 2020, only 8 have occurred in Orthodox churches and 45 on Islamic sites. Most of these incidents were cases of theft, until none of these 57 incidents were classified as religiously motivated”, Ceku wrote.
