So far in Kosovo through COVAX programme and the European Union as donations have come a total of 196 thousand 210 doses of vaccine against COVID-19.
On March 28th, there have been 24 thousand doses of AstraZeneca -- a donation of COVAX -- then 4,680 Pfizer-donation vaccines -- on 12 May, 38,400 COVAX-donation vaccines, on May 18th, 3.510 Pfizer vaccines donated by the EU. On May 27th, 100,620 Pfizer vaccines from the COVAX Foundation, 15,000 doses of the European Union's Western Balkans Mechanism have arrived on June 10th, and 10,000 Croatia's donation vaccines have reached, from the COVAX coalition.
The co-ordinator of the Vaccination Centre “1 October”, Niman Bardi today at a news conference, said June 15th is crucial for the start of mass population vaccine.
Health Minister Arben Vitita, at the government's meeting on 28 March, has said that the mass vaccine plan implies management and a much larger number of vaccines within a month in the Republic of Kosovo, thought to be between 300, 400,000 vaccines per month.
From 196 thousand 210 vaccines in Kosovo, up to today there have been about 99,000 doses. But only 97 thousand and 933 doses of vaccines remain for mass vaccination.
And if the number of vaccines left is seen and the plan that Minister Vitita mentions to vaccinate 300 or 400,000 people a month, it would have to have vaccines only in the first week of mass vaccine.
On this issue, Kosova Preess has contacted MS spokesman Faik Hoti, but he has not been accessible.
Otherwise, it is now known that the MS has purchased over 1.2 million doses of vaccines that will reach the end of the year.
