With 175 votes out of the needed 117, Albania has managed to elect members of the United Nations Organisation Security Council for the next two years, Insander reports.
Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama, announced this through a post in his official Facebook account.
“With 175 votes out of the needed 117, Albania was just elected a member of the UN Security Council for the years 2022-2023<1>, Rama wrote, until he announced this news he called beautiful.
Albania will be part of the United Nations Organisation Security Council after being voted to receive one of the five interim countries in this council with a two-year mandate.
190 member states participated in the vote, but 15 of them did not support the Albanian state in this vote.
In the race for five countries were six states, besides Albania, Brazil, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Ghana and the United Arab Emirates.
