The deputy chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Pal Lekaj, is considering the Kurti Government the weakest government since declaring independence.
In 100 days of forming the executive, Lekaj criticised Prime Minister Kurti for his approach to public institutions, dialogue, and, as the tendency to disrupt reports with the US says.
AAK MP says about Kosova Prees, that in addition to the dismissals and “downloads”, Kurti Government has done nothing in these three months of governance.
“With actions up to now I can call the government the weakest Kosovo has had after independence. This suggests to me that these people have come with more anger, what has been in the past not to admit, but to be in the sense that 20 years they've been doing bad things and now the same are dealing with independent institutions... they're leading to the arrogance of numbers and acting like opposition, instead of acting and improving the lives of the citizens and supporting those who lost jobs, they're counting. So I said, with the greatest kindness, I'd like to find something positive for this government... except downloads and loadings, these guys haven't done anything good what they're doing without having a preliminary report”, he says.
According to him, Prime Minister Kurti's approach to dialogue with Serbia does not differ from past former governments, even as Kurti is calling dialogue new. While even criticising him for his statements about the association of Serb municipalities in Kosovo.
Now you're not calling the Association without executive competence, but you're calling it geographical association. What does that mean, I think here's a mist that Kurt is slipping into what he himself has opposed and saying yes. We as AAK will monitor government actions Kurti, especially in dialogue with Serbia. Going into dialogue without having a clear framework is wrong, has criticised the previous government, and still making the same mistake. I don't see any change in the approach of dialogue”, Lekaj declares.
In addition, Lekaj raises doubts that the Beden administration will lower the level of interest in co-operation with the Kurti Government.
If this is the approach of the government Kurt and our prime minister himself, I think it will lower the level of interest US to Co-operate With Government Kurt. This harms the state of Kosovo and diplomatic subject”, he says.
The government Kurti II was voted in the Kosovo Assembly on March 22nd of this year, until June 30th becomes 100 days of government with the executive.
