Lawyers disappointed with the work of EULEX: His Technical and Unnecessary Role

Lawyer Tome Gashi said EULEX has not done good work for Kosovo, given its mission in rule of law. According to him, UNMIK, but EULEX have acted likewise by accompanying their work of close proximity and various misuses
“I think EULEX has not done such good work in Kosovo, even though it has been the biggest European Union mission that has actually been invited after declaring independence to help enforce rule of law in Kosovo. If we compare them U n NMIC and EULEX are like two twin brothers, as similar jobs they have done to Kosovo have not helped so much. Not only have numerous relatives emerged from the mission EULEX, but those of us who have had EULEX defence cases have become very uncomfortable with us Albanians”, Gashi said.
Gashi says EULEX has not been as productive as expected, and that the mission with Europeans would have to be as productive and successful, especially in investigating war crimes.
“EULEX wasn't as productive as we expected, we can't say they spent their money on EU taxpayers, but I believe that in Kosovo we had to have a more successful mission with Europeans than we had before. UNMIK. It is painful as an investigation into war crimes that Serbia has committed in our country, but the rest, which cannot be understood how it was allowed, where one of the most diligent prosecutors against KLA members Salustro, has been appointed as legal adviser to Serbia's war crimes prosecutor”, he further stressed.
He also cites the response of former EULEX Judge Malcolm Simmons's reaction to abuses on this mission, calling it a delayed and unequivocal response.
And we've had a lot of years later, and the reaction of EULEX Judge Malcolm Simmons's reaction and before he says all of it, we've already told him everything, but little has helped in this matter. His reaction is somewhat delayed, he mentions issues that occurred in 2014 and beyond, and we don't know why this reaction is so late, almost seven years later, so we've asked for a piece of his” evidence, he stressed.
Even lawyer Mahmut Halimi considers EULEX's role a major disappointment and without any progress, where expectations of a fair mission have been very great according to him.
“I've been in the quality of the lawyer in many cases which were then developed, we've waited with great enthusiasm for EULEX's work, and that Europe is finally coming to Kosovo and there will be rapid development and progress in the judicial and prosecutorial system, but in time those expectations have been disappointing. There have been excellent judges and prosecutors, but most of them have been under the dictates of Be and states that have sent their members to missions that have deviated from the general principle of justice”. On the other hand, he says his role may already be considered only technical without any developmental and necessary influence, reports EO.
“Role EULEX at the time when executive competence has had more impact, but now they play a technical role, I've had contact with its personnel and they're still installed in Kosovo, and they stand only to justify the tools that are enjoying them from the EU, but to influence development aspects I can't see that this mission's role is necessary”, he stressed away. “E knows the fire that is burning in our country, because I've always worked in this direction, and I don't see any effect today and I can't see just play forms to be here, just why I've asked for their intervention and in many cases, but I haven't seen any effect, Hal.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani on June 15th, through a letter to the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy and Security, Josep Borrell Fontelles, has announced it for the continuation of the EU Law Rule Mission mandate in Kosovo EULEX for another year.
