Biden's “Administrator has also officially ascertained that the Washington Accords should be the basis for our work forward. We believe that Kosovo and Serbia should stick to these pledges and work together”, United States Ambassador to Pristina Philip Costett said in an interview for Radio Television 21
Despite this official position of the United States Administration, however, by the Government of Kosovo say Washington's agreement has no legitimacy to be in Government.
So said Kosovo Government spokesman Perparation Kryeziu in an interview for Online Economy.
“To repeat a successful position of Prime Minister Kurti I have to say that first of all that document does not have the value and judicial nature of an agreement because no one has been brought to the site to discuss it either to get the support of the Parliament and as such has rightly been called a unilateral pledge document of a Government which at the time of signing of this document was without legitimacy and then in the meantime proved that it did not enjoy the legitimacy needed to be in the Government. Beyond that we are in contact with the United States to work together on topics that have common interest”. Kryeziu said about EO.
Even Prime Minister Kurti had promised that Washington's agreement would not be implemented, since, according to him, it was signed by an illegal prime minister.
When we return to office, we have no obligation to pledge an illegal Kosovo prime minister. Signing below non-competitive and nontransparent texts is against the will of the people, democratic order and violates the constitution. They will not be ratified in our Parliament”, Albin Kurti wrote.
