According to NDI monitoring for the distribution of false news during the Kosovo election campaign period, there have largely been inaccurate news reports to the CEC.
During the last elections, we have seen attacks, pressure, and incorrect reports aimed at denigration of the CEC leader. Part of this campaign has already been President and Speaker of the Parliament.
After the elections, the CEC still remains unapproached with all its members as the Constitution envisions, and violating legal deadlines for the appointment of CEC members. All this fog created for a clear crystal situation, only to fulfill ambitions for more power.
As if these were not enough, news is being circulated today that the president has demanded the CEC's chairman's resignation, without giving the reason where she failed in fulfilling her mandate. In return, he was offered gratitude!
The constitution has not seen the president's dismissal of the CEC chairman, but only the appointment. The downloading is regulated by law, and very specific situations have been envisioned as to when dismissal can be done. The easiest to call is “if it behaves or acts in a way that seriously damages the status and integrity of the CEC”. Now how can someone who has damaged the integrity of the institution be decorated if that is why of dismissal?
Instead of protecting and guaranteeing the constitutional functioning of the CEC, the president is doing the opposite, hindering it.
These events cannot be called any other than trying to capture the CEC.
