Kosovo Women's Framework ( S. The GK) through this response joins other civil society organisations to challenge the former president's decision of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani-Sandriou for the dismissal of Central Election Commission Chairman (KQZ) Valdete Daka”, said in response, broadcast Periskopi.
RGKA's reaction says that the reasonings given by Osman do not stand and attribute the responsibilities that are not hers, or just hers.
According to RGK, Daka's dismissal could also affect the organisation of local elections and could be considered an impact on the independent work of the CEC.
This is the complete response of RGK:
Kosovo Women Network ( S. The GK) through this response joins other civil society organisations to oppose Kosovo Republic President Vjosa Osmani-Sandriou's yesterday's decision to sack Central Election Commission Chairman (KQZ) Valdete Daka.
The reasons given for the dismissal of ica do not stand, and they point to some responsibilities that are not hers or just hers. The CEC is an independent constitutional body, and Daka is only one of the eleven eligible members of the vote.
Among the reasons for the dismissal are found to be a violation of personal data as well as problems with voter lists. None of these two fall under the responsibility of the CEC chairman, one is in the field of the Information and Private Agency, and the other is the responsibility of the Civil Recording Agency at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
We also remember that this decision by President Osmani comes on the eve of announcing the date of local elections to be held in October of this year, and in addition to being considered an impact on the independent work of the CEC, it could also affect the organisation of these elections.
We also remember that before holding early national elections in February 2021, RGK through a media statement called for this process to develop within constitutional rules, democratic spirit, and any disagreement to be addressed through institutional routes. This call is being repeated today, and not only for political parties, but for every institutional figure that carries responsibility for representing the unity of the people, such as the role of the president of Kosovo.
While we witness the political empowerment of women in Kosovo society, RGK will continue the ever-term efforts towards increasing women's participation in politics and decision making, and will seek accountability for decisions affecting the democratic foundations on which we are building our society and our country.
