Kosovo co-ordinated with United States for purchasing fears for KSF

The Kosovo government yesterday has in principle approved the sharing of the additional budget for the purchase of four fears for KSF by the defence ministry.

Former Deputy Defence Minister, who was in office until April 1st this year, is now deputy from VV ranks and deputy chairman of the Commission for Security and Defence Affairs, Enver Dugolli, has said that buying military fears is in co-ordination with the US.

“The Priories of the Kurti Government and the Ministry of Defence is the advancement and strengthening of the KSF's defence and combat capacities and any investment and any support is welcome because it is in accordance with this government's mission and vision to strengthen defence capacities. I also said it's very good news for the fact that it's in co-operation and co-ordination with our ally, the US, who have given and are continuing to contribute to the empowerment of defence capacities”, Dugolli said.

He has said he believes that in the future budget there will be even more support for KSF.

Speaking of the Defence Ministry's request for the purchase of drones, Dugolli has also shown details about what military drones serve.

He has made it known that the KSF has not been equipped with such fears, but has said that such a thing may have been planned to be accomplished.

“There hasn't been a long time before, but it's probably been planned for a later phase, so all we're doing is we're speeding up that transition phase because it's also in our governing program that as soon as possible to reach the necessary defence capacity”, Dugolli said.

Dugolli has said that the Kurti Government has prioritized KSF equipment with the necessary means, especially the weapons, but without neglecting the field of logistics and soldiers who will operate with these means.

We remember that Minister Mehaj has demanded 11.9m euros from the Kosovo Government to buy four military drones that will serve the KSF, but has said the government can only approve 4.5m euros, and then one million euros of defence ministry itself, considering that the fee of 11.9m euros can be made in two installments.

Meheji has announced that one payment of the tranche can be made now, while the remaining half can be paid in March 2022.
