On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development has joined the Presidential Campaign of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, along with the Ministry of Environment, Space Planning, for planting a million trees throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has said this campaign is being realised with the joining of the forces of these three institutions, Klakosova reported.tv.
“While we are constantly working to ensure a sustainable recovery after the pandemic, we understand that whatever we do can never be done by bypassing environmental protection, rather environmental protection is our common priority. So we've joined forces to start the campaign through which we aim at planting a million trees in the following months”, President Osmani said.
Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development Minister Faton Peci has called for attachment to this campaign for planting a million trees throughout Kosovo, all in order to find Kosovo next year with a greener environment.
“Deforestation in our country has reached disturbing levels of air pollution remains one of the major problems over the years, so that we can engage together today so that the future can be freely breathed tomorrow. Our social and economic activities are to develop in a healthier body of”, said Minister Faton Peci.
On the other hand, Environment, Space Planning, and Infrastructure Minister Lieburn Aliu calls for protection of the environment, since it thus claims to protect the nation. “The challenges are many and common, but I strongly believe that from today we are opening a new chapter of governing mentality at the country”, the minister Aliu has said.
Otherwise, the planting campaign of 1 million trees has begun today and will continue in the coming months. This campaign is supported by the Kosovo Presidency, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development and the Ministry of Environment, Space Planning and Infrastructure.
