KEDS explains the incident in Ulpiana: An irresponsible citizen dug and discovered cables without consulting us

KEDS has clarified over the incident that took place today in Pristina's Ulpiana neighbourhood, where a person has come into contact with power cables. “Today there has been an unprecedented case in Pristina's Ulpiana neighbourhood. Unfortunately, an irresponsible person had begun digging by discovering the midmedical tension cables 10 kV (kilovolt) without consulting the KED and without prior permission from the company to work where the electrical assets are located.

As a result, it has come to contact with electricity from one person, fortunately without consequences”, says the communique.

Such operations are unacceptable, since unless they are dangerous, they damage electrical assets, hence endangering the supply of citizens with electricity.

We invite law bodies to intervene and the relevant municipality not to allow such construction.

Each company or individual who wants to work where electricity cables are passed should have permission from KEDS, access the network map, and technical eventual solution, if necessary,”, have clarified further.
