“An inspection revealed various irregularities of a technical nature that could endanger not only the safety of crew members, but also that of persons who were or who could be recovered in the future on board during aid operations”, coastal guards said in a statement.
Coast Guard said the organisation had enough equipment to save up to 27 people, declaring the crew could not guarantee evacuation of people aboard.
The Sea-Eye 4 ship had landed more than 400 immigrants in the Pozzalo Sicilian port, Euronews writes, conveys Klankosova. tv
