Early in today's parliamentary session, deputy The PDK, former Health Minister Uran Ismaili, has handed over to Minister Arben Vitita the law to regulate drug collection.
In 2019, Ismaili had signed Administrative Guide to regulate and reduce medicine collections in order to stop corruption in the purchase of drugs.
Ismaili said that with his departure from the Ministry of Health, this policy has not been implemented. He said that during the pandemic, 2,000% more expensive drugs were purchased.
Read below from Ismaili's statement:
For years, Kosovo has bought over 6m euros more expensive hospital medicine within the year. Furthermore, our citizens have spent about 10m euros more on drug purchases annually.
Kosovo's citizens have purchased more expensive medicines in drugs than citizens in Albania, Macedonia and Montenegro.
Kosovo citizens have bought the same drugs at different prices during the day and night.
The same bars had different prices in the village and the city.
I invite you to, with your support of this law, help to stop corruption forever in the purchase of drugs at the Ministry of Health, save the citizens' pocket, and restore the dignity of our pharmacists.” said among others Ismaili.
Health Minister Arben Vitita after accepting the draft law drafted by Ismaili Bridge, thanked him for the work done in the law.
