By the time India is in a hurry to vaccinate as many people as possible against Ovidius-19, health workers are often forced to climb dangerous mountains and hard terrain to reach residents of remote areas.
In the northern region of Liddewa, more than 60 miles [100 km] from the capital of the Indian part of Kashmir, medical teams have been forced to spend six hours walking and riding slowly to reach certain mountain tribes.
On a recent morning, Reuters agency joined a health team that took such a course.
“They are not fully educated or aware of the vaccine. We had to talk to them, motivate them to obey and mobilise. It's a trust building process. At first, there was a reluctance”, said Nassir Khan, a local health official.
