He said it is a statuteic and democratic standard to pave the way for literal organisation of the Convention on 3 July.
“Over eight months of exercise of this task, a responsibility entrusted to me without my wishes and ours, but as a result of the arrest of our leaders, President Veselin Thaci's Chairman, I have been through extraordinary political and personal experience”, he said.
The new chairman's “election is not an attempt to replace the leaders or chairman we have at The Hague, but a message that only a strong, politically powerful PDK with great support in Kosovo means even the strongest KLA, with its most powerful leaders and the fulfilled Kosovo state”, Hoxhaj wrote on Facebook.

Honored members and structures of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, last week's decision to announce the party's election Convention, has been forwarded today with the delivery of my resignation as acting chairman and current party leadership. This is a statuteic and democratic standard to pave the way for the literal organisation of the Convention on July 3rd. Over eight months of carrying out this task, a responsibility entrusted to me without my wishes and ours, but as a result of the arrest of our leaders, President Veselin Thaci's Chairman, I have been through extraordinary political and personal experience. The election of the new chairman is not an attempt to replace the leaders or leaders we have at The Hague, but a message that only a strong, politically powerful PDK and with great support in Kosovo means the strongest KLA, with its most powerful leaders and Kosovo state fulfilled. Thank you, all members for your support, party associates and leadership. In my political commitment every time I was myself and served a larger cause that is Kosovo and the PDK, never seeing status and position as vision but otherwise. Our independent state, and the essential role of The PDK in statehood is our shared vision. Thank you and good priest!
