Hoxha for the Council of Quality: Power-related members continuing capture of institutions

The Democratic Party of Kosovo MP, member of the Commission for Education, Eliza Hoxha, said members proposed for the State Quality Council of the Kosovo Agency for Accreditation are linked to the current government. Hoxha has said the minister has appointed to this council persons who dare not be part of the boards if there is a conflict of interest because of their family or party connection to the Vetevendosje Movement, as well as other criteria that are contrary to the administrative directive.
Even according to her, even the commission that has made their selection is made by former Vetevendosje members, among them Rron Gjinovci.
She said that Professor Seb Bytyci, proposed by the Government for the Antar, holds this position and that is a violation. As for Hasnija Ilazi, he said he was the mentor and vice minister of education, Dukagjin Pupovci.
While Gzim Tosun said he was the grandson of Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislim.
Tosun currently, professor at the Economics Faculty, has already been dean of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Gjilan.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology opened the competition for new members of the State Council of Quality Board at the beginning of April, where it has appointed the commission of the five members in which it is former LVV activist Rron Gjinovci. In this composition the commission has drafted all documentation and recommendation that has now been sent to the minister has also come as a decision on the parliamentary Commission for Education, Science, Youth and Sports”.
The assistant has selected a third person who is not part of the first list of those who have met the terms of which is Professor Seb Bytyci, who has not been a seed on the narrow list for elections and has not met the criteria. Professor Bytyci dares not have two jobs in my head, he works 40 hours in Riinvest and simultaneously at a university in England”.
If this government proposal comes to our Commission and is voted in the Assembly it seems as though the government's influence would be enormous in this independent institution. It is known that Kosovo has been excluded from mechanisms related to the quality of education ENQA and ECAR, and the criteria Kosovo must meet in the next two years to return to these important mechanisms have to do with non-interference of politics”.
The Kosovo government has on 21 May to appoint seven members of the Kosovo Agency for Accreditation State Council.
The four appointed local members are: Hasiya Ilazi, Gezim Tosun, Seb Bytyci and Crenare Piraeus-Nouci, while international members are: Alison Felce, Cassie L. Bernhardt and Werner J. Stueber.
