The mayor's election took place under secret voting, while a minimum of nine KRK members were needed to vote, reports “Justice Trust”.
The president's mandate will be five years old, without the right to re-election.
Judge Albina Shaban-Rama is a judge at the Special Department of the Foundation Court in Pristina.
By December of last year, the Constitutional Court in Pristina was led by Judge Aferdita Bytyci. After its mandate expired, from January this year until now, this court has been led by tribunal chairman Arben Hoti's task officer.
The competition for the Court's chairman in Pristina was opened on January 27, 2021. Only judges of the Court in Pristina, including the branches of this court, have had the opportunity to run for the court.
To be elected to this position, a judge must have at least three years of work experience, as well as have no disciplinary sanctions with the decision of the formal form, exclusion of the mass of rebuke or non-public remarks in the last five years.
Judge Albina Shabani-Rama's bioography:
Albina Shabani- Rama is a judge at the Special Department at the Foundation Court in Pristina. Judge Shaban-Rama graduated from the Jurydical Faculty, University of Pristina in 2004, while the jurisdictional exam was completed in 2013. Between 2005 and 2013, she worked in the Kosovo Police as a senior official for Ancesa then, as well as the Commission for Anxiety and Rewards' Vice-President at the General Directorate of Police. Judge Shaban-Rama has completed post-diplomic studies in 2008 and has taken the Master of Jurydic-Penal Sciences title. He has also worked as a Judiciary Inspector in the Prosecutor's Bureau of Discipline from 2013 to 2015. With 19.05.2015, she has been appointed a judge at the General Department for Criminal Affairs at the Constitutional Court in Pristina and has continued working on this department until 30,06,2016. By 01.07.2016, a judge was appointed at the Department of Mytur, where he worked until June 2019. In July 2019, he was appointed judge at the Special Department, which he still holds.
