Chairmanial Candidate Pristina, from the ranks of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Daut Haradinaj has said that if he gets the citizens' trust to lead the capital, he will request the reduction of customs for the newest vehicles in order to bring about improved air quality.
Haradinaj has said Pristina is more polluted than other cities because of the large influx of vehicles used for transport.
“Pristina as capital of 30% total population Kosovo is more polluted than other cities because of the large influx of vehicles used for transport. Also, field professionals confirm this, and their means of transportation remain the largest air pollutants in Capital”, wrote Haradinaj on his Facebook account.
He has said that improving the quality of life of citizens of Pristina will be the priority of the future government.
“In the service of improving air quality, if I take the trust of the citizens, during my government mandate I will insist on the relevant institutions (government and Parliament) for reducing customs for the newest vehicles. So the younger the vehicle, the lower the customs. In addition to the benefits for citizens, this legislative initiative would receive support from other municipalities, and businesses that, as a fieldman, have automotive trade. Improving citizens' quality of life will be the priority of future governance”, Daut Haradinaj has indicated.
