It has been a year and two months since the first cases of those infected with COVID-19 have been confirmed in Kosovo.

As a result of the spread of this virus so far in Kosovo, 2,000 and 243 citizens have lost their lives. But the pandemic situation affected not only the health of many of the citizens but also was markedly damaged by the country's economy.

As a result of this virus there were large losses in Pristina Airport.

Unlike past years when the influx of incoming exiles and return was extremely high, the pandemic caused numbers to change.

The total number of flights under Pristina Airport BARAdem Jasharı during the January-April period last year had major changes.

In January 2020, a total of 1,000 and 368 similar flights were completed, with 1 thousand 1134 in February.

But everything changed from March, when flights accomplished were only 640 falling even worse in April with only 52 incoming flights under this airport.

The number of travelers within this airport declined greatly.

In a response to news.net, Pristina Airport spokeswoman Valentina Gara stressed that in January 2020 there were 183 thousand and 472 travelers, while in April of the same year, there were only 2 thousand and 997 travelers under the airport.

But what about the first four months of this year.

The race has declared that the number of flights in January was 1,000 and 160 flights, or 15.20% less.

“In February there were 782 flights or 31.04% less, in March there were only 838 flights or +30.04%, while in April there was a total of 740 flights”, news reports reported.

It was also stressed that the total number of travelers in January was 134 thousand 204,96442 passengers were in February, while in March there were 100,141 passengers. The month after or exactly April at Pristina Airport were a total of 79,278 travelers.

Pristina Airport spokeswoman Valentina Gara announced that there is already greater influx of travelers, compared to the past months.

“Yes, we have greater flow of travelers than in the preceding months. The largest number of passengers to arrive during the months of June, July and August. Given that last year we didn't have any flights, except for the repatriation, military and medical flights, we expect more flights and travelers this year than last year”, Gara stressed.

From Adem Yasar Airport, they have stressed that all necessary measures have been taken both technical and human resources to process all travelers and flights during the summer season.

It should be commemorated that from the beginning of the vaccine in many parts of the world, travel relief has also begun.

So even though in Kosovo the situation continues to be almost the same, but with the decline in the number of infected many of the exiles choose to come to their homeland, even though they were often asked to test it The PCR, which the same, did not hesitate to carry out just to reach the state of Kosovo.

It should be commemorated that in the three summer months it is the largest number of exiles who choose to come near families, whether through Pristina Airport, buses or even private cars via land routes.
