Political analyst Dukagjin Gorani has said the update of the US executive order for the Western Balkans to be put on the blacklist of all who destabilise this region and violate international agreements is aimed at the region's gradual pacifism.

Through such decrees condemning violators, according to Goran, it is intended that the Western Balkans be at the proper level of law enforcement like the European Union countries.

The “List of these people is the list of those who were somehow involved in the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia in the conflict between the KLA and Serb forces at the time. This also speaks of Washington's approach after the wars in relation to “hard security”, the dangers of stability and direct and aggressive or armed aspects. Meanwhile, the update that occurred yesterday includes what is “Soft secuity” that not necessarily people who have been in armed conflicts pose a risk to stability”.

According to Goran, this raise of criteria means that corruption is now pursued, people who do not support or reject the implementation of international agreements

The “This is seen as preparing the Western Balkans for a new phase, and all this raising of the criteria speaks of Washington's efforts to gradually uncipher and bring to the level of law enforcement that would meet the EU” criteria.

But Gorani in Rubik has said that the EU's rejection of this decree is indicative for a political settlement depending on the interests they have towards the region.

This also shows a political calculations that the EU has in front of the Western Balkans due to open problems, but also leadership structures, likely during the coming time, will be affected by this decree”.
