The final trial against Mladic is a significant contribution to the prosecution of terrible atrocities committed in the former Yugoslavia. The perpetrators of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity must be held accountable. The reconciliation needs the truth and acceptance of the facts”, Roth said.
The International Criminal Court of the United Nations Appeals Chamber has sentenced Serbian criminal Ratko Mladic to life imprisonment. Thus, the first degree decision has been confirmed.
The head of the court, Prisca Matamba Nyarbe, declared the Apel Chamber's decision that Mladic could not dismiss his involvement in the crimes.
