Gageri, in a proposal for Blic newspaper, says Kosovo has problems with its representation in dialogue, frequent change of governments, as well as lack of position-opposital unification, while stressing that the US and the EU should pressure Serbia, which, according to her, would accept Kosovo.
The question of dialogue is a serious topic for Kosovo, when we bear in mind that the Serbian side does not intend to close this topic, so we rightly expect from the EU and the US serious commitment and pressure on Serbia to accept reality, the Republic of Kosovo and this topic close as soon as possible. Kosovo also has a problem with representation, with changing every government we have shown political infertility because there has been no co-operation, co-ordination and unification of political parties, position-opposital about this issue, and this behaviour has been used by Serbia with its allies”, Gager says.
According to her, the Kurti Government has had to comply with the principles of the Hoti Government, that no agreement is no longer valid.
This government is unfortunately doing the same but with other tactics. The current government, instead of complying with the principles of the Hoti government, which were achieved in compliance with Mrs. Merkel and President Sarkozy, who no agreement is worth without mutual recognition anymore, the Kurti government, declares that this is not the continuation of dialogue but is the new beginning of dialogue and lists populist themes with full folklore for electoral issues within Kosovo, this is really harmful and incomprehensible”, she declares.
Gageri stresses that Prime Minister Kurti must have dialogue priorities and make solutions to important topics for Kosovo.
“Solving the problem between Kosovo and Serbia is no longer a priority of international policy, while for us should be a priority, given personalities such as Baiden, Merkel, etc., which have the attention of the Kosovo citizenship process and through these personalities invest everything of ourselves so that we can close this process as soon as possible. The world order, including politics, is changing, not in our favor, so the government of the Republic of Kosovo must act correctly with the trust and needs of citizens. Mr. Kurti, it should be as soon as he can be honest and addressing citizens, acknowledging that those folk and populist promises were meant for campaigning, while reality is different. He must face reality and make solutions on important topics such as dialogue”, Gager says.
Otherwise, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said dialogue with Serbia is viewed as dialogue for mutual recognition until he has said this is also the approach of US President Joe Biden.
This is what American President Joe Biden said, and we fully agree with this statement. Serbia must recognise Kosovo and a Serbia recognise Kosovo later, and thus our two republics create good neighbourly relations according to the European model”, Kurti has declared.
Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has said Serbia will never stop dialogue.
We will never stop dialogue, there are undoubtedly tasks that should be fulfilled by the Pristina side. This has been accepted by the two EU representatives. We had serious negotiations and we have signed documents that need to be recognized, implemented and fulfilled in the way it needs”, he stated.
