But what post does the party chairman perform in the PDK?

Chairman The PDK reportedly represents the unity of all PDK members, and is also elected by the PDK General Convention by a secret vote. If there is only one candidate for the party's chairman, the Convention may decide that the vote will take place by hand.

As for the criteria for candidates, they approve of the PDK leadership with a special act of 30 calendar days before the Convention.

Candidates could be submitted up to 5 days before the convention is held and Central Headship should be presented along with the signatures of 50 delegates.

The president's mandate lasts four years, while this one reports to the General Convention on his work. For the need to realise the party chairman's duties, he can establish his cabinet. In case the mayor is absent, or otherwise unable to exercise his office, he is replaced by one of the vice heads.

On the other hand, the mayor has these competencies:

represents PDK in local organs.

represents PDK in international organs and bodies.

Leads the work of PDK bodies.

He calls and heads the meetings of the Headship and the Steering Council.

Proposes the vice-presidents, the PDK secretary general and secretary.

Proposed commissions and troops working for different letters.

It proposes the composition of PDK delegations for meetings both at home and abroad.

Along with the chairmanship, it gives the final proposal for the PDK candidate list in the Kosovo Republic Parliamentary Elections.

Along with the mayor, it gives the final proposal for the candidate list of ministers from the PDK ranks.

10. Along with the headship, with a separate act, proposes exemption from the PDK of all those who act contrary to PDK policies and do not adhere to party discipline.

11. It proposes members of the Headship.

The two most controversial names to receive PDK leadership are Enver Hoxhaj, who was up until 3 days ago U.d of the PDK chairman, and also Memli Krasniqi, who is currently deputy of the Kosovo Assembly.

On the other hand, the other two names -- that of Ismaili Bridge and Vlora Citak -- are mentioned to be in PDK's narrow leadership.
