The “was impossible to agree on the approval of opening negotiations with Northern Macedonia and Albania. We hope this will be achieved during Slovenia's presidency,” said Ana Paula Zakarias, State Secretary for European Affairs in Portugal, after yesterday's meeting in Luxembourg.
Bulgaria called on northern Macedonia to take some additional steps in terms of historical and linguistic issues, claiming that this state was violating the Community Agreement.
This blockade Bulgaria made to northern Macedonia also wrongly punished Albania.
Albania is obliged to join Macedonia in opening negotiations for EU membership, reports B92, Periscopi.
On the other hand, Bulgaria praised the achievements made by Albania for the reforming process and reaffirmed its support for this state. /Periscope
