Le Pen had hoped that Provence - Alps-Cote d'Azur would be the first regional victory, but it was won by central right-wing Republicans.
They and the Socialist Party managed to get a big increase in the elections, reports the BBC, translates Periscopi.
President Emmanuel Macron's party received the biggest losses in this election.
Even his “party La Republique En Marche” failed to win a certain region.
But Mrs. Le Pen is of far greater importance to Kosovo and other countries hoping to change this state's approach.
She had hoped that through her victory in one of France's major regions, she would raise hopes for the 2022 presidential race. /Periscope
