She admitted the charges to a federal court in Washington nearly two years after Guzman was sentenced to life imprisonment plus 30 years, on 10 counts including international distribution of cocaine, heroin, marijuana and other drugs and the use of firearms. Actually he's being held in Colorado Supermax Prison.
The 31-year-old was arrested at the “Dulites” International Airport in Virginia and was accused of helping her husband run the notorious Sinaloa cartel. FBI officials said Coronel helped distribute cocaine and in planning her husband's escape from a Mexican prison in 2015.
Coronel, a citizen of both Mexico and the United States, met with Guzman when he was only 17 years old, and got married very soon. They have two children, Maria Joachim and Emmaly. During her husband's trial, Coronel sat in the courtroom almost every day to show him absolute support and loyalty.
