President Vjosa Osmani has long disagreed with CEC chairman Valdete Daka. In January, she had warned measures against the institution that organises the elections, while reported that even as a leader of the president's office at the time, she could also think of dismissing the CEC chairman from office. Today, Osmani has asked Central Election Commission Chairman Valdete Daka to resign from her position in the institution in exchange for a recognition by the presidency.

Since the last elections, Osman Séci had liked not only the failure of the LVV candidate list of deputies in recent elections, which had been sentenced in the last three years, including Albin Kurtin. Osman had been irritated by Dama's statements since before announcing the date of extraordinary elections.

On behalf of the protection of the CEC's integrity, since January the possibility of Vjosa Osmani dismissing the chairman of this body, Valdete Daka, who is also a cousin. With an unusual address, Osman had warned the measures, while it was reported that the law on general elections gives her the right to dismiss the CEC chairman from office.

If we face such situations in which the CEC is abused to push forward the party agenda on the part of CEC members, I will be forced to take all measures for the integrity of the CEC and the election process”, Osmani indicated.

The long meeting of the CEC, where Osman had recently been decided not to certified her own LV list.

What we saw yesterday in the CEC has been unprecedented, indecent and unacceptable for an institution that has to do its best to protect integrity. In live transmissions, tremendous pressure was put on the director of the Office for Certificate of Political Subject”, Osmani said.

She estimated that CEC chairman Valdete Daka had to fulfill her legal obligation as she has sworn in, which Daka said she was doing during the meeting in the CEC, where she requested additional documents from the Office for Certificate of Political Subjects, citing the risk that law and Constitution might be violated.

Since before setting the date for holding general parliamentary elections, Vjosa Osmani, as the president's task leader, wanted no complaints from the Central Election Commission regarding the preparation of the elections, which she was due to announce as soon as the Constitutional Court's full act of judgment arrived at the office, which had brought down the Hoti Government.

Osmani on 22 December and 23 December of last year had been meeting separately representatives of political parties to discuss the most favourable date for holding general elections. For election day, she had not spoken to the CEC, while the chairman of the body responsible for organising the elections, Valdete Daka for Express, had said Osman would have to consult them.

Daka hoped Osman would take into account the CEC's request and use the constitutional deadline for setting the date for holding elections.

“But now, of course, the CEC also needs to be consulted on possible deadlines and dates for holding elections. We know she's on the discretion of the President's duty to announce elections. She would certainly take into account all the demands, both of the political parties and the CEC's bid”, Daka had said.

The announcement of the extraordinary election, then acting as president, Vjosa Osmani, had said on January 4th that he would make “in the moment the act comes” because, as he said, <x2 most of the parties during consultations we had voiced readiness to go to the elections as soon as we can. On this occasion, Osman also sent the CEC a message to organise elections quickly, just as he had done in the past and had asked Valdete Daka not to complain. She had added that instead of expressing concerns, the CEC had to work.

The various processes that exist within the CEC, which usually may have long-term complaints, are such, but I don't think we should hear complaints. It's not the first time the CEC organises elections in 40 days, it's happened before. Just as they made preparations in the past and have made public talk with full confidence that all preparations will be made and citizens will have the opportunity to vote and realise their constitutional right, I expect and demand that the CEC... I don't believe that we should listen to the CEC now expressing concerns, but we should see the CEC working and making necessary preparations so that our citizens, but also those who live in exile as soon as possible, the possibility of voting” had said.

On the other hand, Daka had indicated that “on whatever date they set, we would organise elections”, but had added that it would be better left more time, demanding an opportunity for the organisation to get better.

And the more time we have, the more we are able to make better choices and give all citizens space to vote. We have a constitutional obligation to organise elections, but the longer we are left, the better. We're just looking to be given an opportunity to make the best choices and have the comfort of the time”, Daka said.

Osmani in advance, had indicated that “in the time of extraordinary elections has no working hours, 24 hours' work”. At the same time, Daka said that they would be working overtime.

“Out of time we'll still work. We won't be here till 4:00 p.m. ”, she said.

The CEC's chairman also complained that the budget needed to organise elections had not yet been sealed.
