Civil society urges Kurt to permanently clarify attitudes for dialogue

Dialogue is an insurmountable process for resolving Kosovo-Serbia problems, and clarifying positions on the part of Kurti Government is most necessary according to civil society representatives. Arber Fetah from the Group for Juridical and Political Studies (GSJP) said in a proposal for Online Economy that the June 15th meeting Kurti-Wucciq is good news because dialogue is necessary to confirm Kosovo in the international arena.
Even according to him, this will particularly affect advancing potential UN membership as well as accelerating the European perspective.
We don't have a measurable result in the sense that except for the meeting that was good news in itself after a long time Kosovo and Serbia returned to the table of discussion and that's a good step since we've seen dialogue is insurmountable to solve the Kosovo- Serbia and to confirm Kosovo in the international arena, especially to advance it for possible membership in the UN, as well as to open European perspective”, it has indicated.
According to Fetah, the meeting between the Kosovo and Serbian sides was characterised with differences and opposing attitudes.
And I believe that this is the essence of Kurti-Wuchick meeting in this first round, after both sides showed their differences, diametrically opposite positions, and we're seeing and we're witnessing that Kosovo and Serbia have attitudes that are hard to approach to achieve a comprehensive final agreement, which is now being weathered for several years. The good news is that it is continuing with discussions further and perhaps with a new dynamic negotiation with greater US involvement and more constructive positions on both sides can move away to open paths for compatibility where there is” space.
He says the future of the dialogue seems rather unclear and that it is expected that there will be a tense pace between the two sides as well.
“While in terms of continuing forward negotiations without wanting to prejudge the continuation I believe there will be a pace of further tension between the two sides, taking into account Kurt's proposal made Serbia and its response, and considering that Serbia is now reluctant to include recognition of Kosovo as part of the” agreement.
“On the other hand, we have Kosovo's reluctance to establish the Association of Serb Majorities, with executive competencies as well as these two positions and the future of dialogue and other rounds seem quite unclear, and it is ambition that will characterise the next round of dialogue and the next meeting of”.
While life Krasniqi from the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) told Online Economy that the EU has welcomed the June 15th meeting in Brussels in the sense of what had a meeting and agreed to another.
According to Krasniqi, Prime Minister Kurti should offer more clarification and explanation for the continuing strategy of this dialogue.
The June 15th <x0th meeting was the first meeting between Prime Minister Kurti and Serbia's president, Vuciq, we saw the Kosovo side spread its season or how it views this process and how it should move forward with it. So we expected it could happen because Prime Minister Kurti, even before going to Brussels, made it clear that he would not continue the dialogue where former Prime Minister Hoti left it, but will go and show what this government expects, how this government sees this dialogue, saying it is already a new dialogue.
On the other hand, we saw that the European Union welcomed this meeting in the sense that both sides met and had a second date. What we know is Kosovo presented four points for which I appreciate that Prime Minister Kurti should give more detail, so what he thought more on those points and how he sees this process generally in the sense that these four points should be part of an agreement, so what is the strategy further. This is something we should expect more clarification of the explanation on the part of Prime Minister Kurti in the coming days” has expressed.
Krasniqi has also expressed the opinion that further communication between Kosovo and EU emissary Miroslav Lajcak is expected before the next meeting.
The next meeting is expected by July 25th, as it was said, was where both sides expressed their positions but did not have a deal. We can expect that by July 25th there will be a pressure or effort from the European Union, from Emissari Lajcak to close the agenda or build an agenda where both sides may have some common stance”.
The “is more clear that we cannot talk about successive meetings where the parties express their positions, but they are very different. We can expect that there may be visits from Lajcak's gut or communication again, even if not physical with both Prime Minister Kurti's office or even President Vuciq's to prepare the” meeting, it has ended.
