Reference to recent statements by the American Special Minister for the Western Balkans, Matthew Palmer, that the US supports the modalisation of the agreement, even without recognition, Colak says any other epilogue of this process, in addition to recognition, would be harmful to Kosovo and not alone.
The process of dialogue for normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia must certainly end with mutual recognition between the two states”.
Any other epilogue of this process would be harmful not only for Kosovo, but also for all stability in the Western Balkans. The US remains an irreplaceable partner in the process. The EU on the other hand is the formal mediator of these negotiations, aimed at reaching an agreement between the two states. In the end, we should be aware that the EU and the US want legally binding and acceptable agreements between Kosovo and Serbia”.
However, it is not those who define the contents of the agreement and the eventual compromise”.
Therefore, they do not mind the scenario of reaching an agreement that does not result in mutual recognition as long as the two sides agree. But this option is too bad and dangerous for Kosovo. Being such should not be considered at all” /Kankosova/
