The infected person, who lives in the town of Genenang, was hospitals on April 28, after having temperatures and other symptoms, says the National Health Commission's statement.
He was diagnosed with the H10N3 virus on 28 May, reportedly, but no details were given about how the man infected with the bird virus, Reuters writes.
The Commission said the H10N3 virus is a less pathogenic and relatively milder strain of the bird virus and that the risk of its massive distribution is very low.
The person affected by this virus is stable and ready to be released from the hospital. After medical observation of the people with whom the infected person had contact, authorities have found no other affected.
Many species of bird flu are circulated in China, and some of them are from time to time in humans. The affected are usually bird farm workers. However, there have not been considerable numbers of people affected by bird flu since 2016-2017, when about 300 people had died from the H7N9 virus.
