China in a bind: The herd of 16 wild elephants lies down after 15 months of travel

The famous herd of Chinese elephants has taken a break after 15 months of traveling that took them far away from their natural habitat - an open - air opposition. Authorities have issued extraordinary resources to monitor the flock and keep it away from populated areas. [...]

Authorities have issued extraordinary resources to monitor the flock and keep it away from populated areas. According to the Chinese media, the forest fire brigade said that a group of eight people were following elephants 24 hours a day, even on land but also in the air.

The recent news says that authorities have seen Asian wild elephants outside a village in Xiyang, reports The Guardian, Periscopi.

Fear - made images show elephants resting in the forest after their journey of over 500 miles [500 km].

On Monday, more than 410 members of emergency personnel, 374 vehicles and 14 drones moved with more than two tons of elephant food to try to get elephants out of human areas to evacuate people from the street.

Animal authorities are failing to understand why the group of 16 elephants fled the natural habitat.

Last week, two elephants left the group, allowing the rest to continue their opposition to head north.

These elephants are believed to have caused over 1m euros in damage along their way. /Periscope
