Radoniqi at the Commission for Legislation has considered it a challenge to hold early municipal elections in the two municipalities of Kosovo and early ones, because this has been something new, so it has made it difficult to organise elections.
Because of the 2020 pandemic, it has been difficult both for the CEC to fulfil obligations and to organise elections. So the CEC has faced the challenge of elections in time of pandemic in the northern Podujevo and Mitrovica municipality. This was a challenge faced for the first time”.
The “The measures undertaken by the CEC in the elections in those two municipalities have served as a value in the February early elections body as well. This year has been challenging in realising plans in predetermined times. The CEC in most of the time worked with essential staff”.
Radoniqi has also urged the acceleration of the election reform process.
“Sphide remains the law's failure to change for general and local elections. We consider the Assembly to close the electoral reform process. Disintergjim of the address system affecting voters' accuracy”, it added.
And LVV deputy Arba Abrashi has congratulated Radonijqi and said he hopes he will lead with this institution impartially.
There are many decisions that have hurt our country's democratic process, I hope you will ensure an impartiality in decision-making”, he said.
PDK MP Blerta Deliu-Codra has once again cited President Vjosa Osmani's decision to sack Valdete Daka from the CEC chairmanship. She has called this decision unprecedented, reports EO.
Deliu Kodra has also expressed concern about not appointing a second member of the PDK to the CEC, where, according to her, this country is trying to leave a candidate for deputy from List “Gux”.
We said what we said as the PDK should stop at some points that we have addressed to our concerns. I think I read the report and I appreciate the work and I understand the challenges that have been faced during the pandemic”.
The first “concerns the actions of President Osmani that are violating the Constitution by failing to implement it for the appointment of a second PDK member and for the party V AKAT a member”.
“We consider that a typical violation is being made by the country's president for the fact that the third candidate expected to enter the CEC is a List candidate, Guso. It's unprecedented the way Osman fired a lady who respected Kosovo laws”.
The other MP from this party, Hajdar Beqa, has said Kosovo needs an election reform, but not for such a thing to be done hastily.
