CEC condemns Social Democrat Initiative

The Central Election Commission has approved the decision to fine the Social Democrat Initiative by 350 euros. That is because the same party did not warn the CEC of holding the Electoral Assembly. A decision has also been made at today's meeting to restrict spending on political subjects for the campaign of local elections to be held [...]
The director of the Office for Recording and Certificate of Political Partys, Yll Buleskaj, has indicated that higher spending restrictions are in excess of 950 thousand euros.
“Zyra has prepared an estimate of 50 cents of voter service for municipalities that have more than 5 thousand voters. And 70 cents for less. As a total of approved expenditures will be 950 thousand and 633 euros and 40 cents for those political subjects competing throughout Kosovo. Because we're going to have political subjects competing in just one municipality, or more than one municipality, but not at all, then you've got the table attached that I've mentioned the amount allowed for each municipality. If a political subject competes in just one municipality, in June, then there will be 2733 and 50 cents allowed”, Buleskaj said.
Furthermore, Buleskaj has announced the decision to fine the 350-euro Initiative, as this political subject has not announced the CEC to hold the Electoral Assembly.
The “has been originally recommended suspension of political subject, but during yesterday we accepted the documentation. So according to the law we haven't had to take any other measures, but we have to take the amount of punctuation, because the documentation has been delayed more than 15 days. The amount, which according to Article 12.1 for these measures, is 350 euros fine for the political subject, which is not part of the Kosovo Assembly. Given that the Social Democrat Initiative has failed to enter the 488x1> assembly, he said.
However, members of the CEC have discussed this, since the old recommendation mentions party suspension, not fine. That is why the next meeting is required to improve this mistake and vote for the 350-euro Social Democrat Initiative fine. But that decision has been adopted.
Saturday's meeting has also been discussed extending working hours for local elections. This has not been supported by CEC member Sami Kurteshi from LVV.
I don't see the reason to do this, because in the operational plan all the deadlines are set within work schedule, until 4:00. We have no extraordinary choice, we have common choices. There's no need for this extra, absolutely... I'm up against the pause, we had it last time, but last time we didn't admit it. At that time, however, there have been remarkable choices when time, period of action, cannot be set. But it is now largely up to us”, he said.
The other member from LVV, Alym Rama, was not even hired. However, that has been supported by Democratic League of Kosovo member Florian Dashi.
The working nature here does not connect to two-to-three deadlines which are ahead of the operational plan. But the volume of work is enormous, and we also know from the past that secretariat or officials engage even beyond working hours, weekends, or other days. Therefore, I consider that first by listening to their reasoning and then whether it is necessary to enforce the length or obligation of our staff to work more than 40 hours. Because otherwise we'll have other nature problems”, Dish stressed.
CEC leader Kreshnik Radoniqi, who later said a decision on extending hours should be made.
