Borrell, in a press proposal before the meeting, reiterated that Kosovo and Serbia's path towards the EU is the continuation of dialogue.

“Today, along with Miroslav Lajcak, we will be on the ground to a new high-level dialogue meeting between Belgrade and Pristina. I am happy that it is happening at the time when the European Union will meet with President Joe Biden here in Brussels. It is a pleasure to meet and welcome to Brussels Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, not long after the bilateral visit to Brussels”.

I have then encouraged both to continue with meetings within dialogue, without delay, and with the focus to produce results despite all existing obstacles. We know that this dialogue will not be easy, but this process and sincere commitment on both sides is needed for the benefit of the people of Kosovo and Serbia. Let's be clear about the dialogue and its outcome is the path to the European future for both countries”.
