Italian police deactivated a bomb placed under the car of a local politician in Rome, a very serious incident according to Mayor Virginia Raggi.
Garden forces were called to the scene after suspicious wires were detected in the car.
The vehicle was immediately blocked until experts managed to disarm the bomb that caused little fear. The targeted car was that of Marco Doria, president of the task force tasked with preserving and developing parks and historical villas at the helm of Italy.
Doria had already been placed under police protection because of the ongoing threats she had received, related to the charges he had made to illegal interventions in historic buildings as well as the damage to the city's statues and fountains.
Roman prosecutors have opened an investigation and say they will follow the case to the end.
