Kosovo Radio Television Board member Ilir Bytyci has resigned.
In his letter of resignation, Bytyci wrote that he resigned as a sign of discontent and inability to make changes in Bord and Management, as well as despite the situation created in RTK.
The chairman of the RTK Board, Sali Basota, has responded to this letter.
Basota has declined to accept Bytyci's resignation, arguing that Board members could resign by writing the Board at least three (3) months ago.
“According to the RTK Law, Article 28, points 4, where the dismissal and resignation of the board member is presented, clearly says: “The board's members can resign by writing down the Board at least three (3) months before””.
Basota says that at this stage the resignation of the RTK Board member is contrary to the law and as such is unacceptable.
