In an article published today in the <x0Washington Post”, the US president promised to consolidate the US democratic alliances in the face of numerous crises and increasing threats of Moscow and Beijing.
Beden will go to Europe on Wednesday, where he will participate in the summits of G7 and NATO and meet in Geneva on 16 June with Putin, in a period of tensions between the two rival powers.
Washington has sanctioned Moscow for a host of reasons, charges of election intervention, computer piracy, spying, oppression targeting rival Alexeï Navajo, a military threat in Ukraine, an annexing Ukrainian Crime, reports ATS.
Russia has responded with numerous countersanctions and both powers do not have ambassadors in their respective capitals for several weeks.
Moscow has also charged NATO for military activism in Russian borders with the deployment of troops and exercises.
“We are united to respond to Russia's challenges to European security, starting with its aggression in Ukraine and there will be no doubt about the US's determination to protect our democratic values, which we cannot share our interests”, writes Biden.
