US President Joe Biden has abolished his predecessor Donald Trump's executive order, banning TikTok and WeChat apps in the United States.
This ban has been conveyed with a host of legal challenges and has never been implemented.
Now the U.S. Department of Trade will review the applications designed and developed by those that are included in the US's “list of foreign opponents, such as China.
Biden said he'd have fact-based access to whether these apps pose a threat to US national security.
TikTok has not commented on this decision yet.
Trump had signed the executive order for the TikTok app, which is owned by the Chinese company Bywedance in 2020.
He described the world app as a threat to national security.
Meanwhile, a proposal was made that the Oracle and Walmart companies who received Tik Tok management rights in the US.
But the legal complications, and the fact that Trump has left the president's position, have meant that neither the ban nor the American involvement have ever been experienced.
